Princess Royal To Visit Army Equitation School Tuesday Feb 17

THE Army Equitation School at McKee Barracks, Dublin, will see its first visit by a member of the British Royal Family tomorrow (Tuesday) since 1900, when Queen Victoria inspected what was then Marlborough Barracks.

HRH The Princess Royal is to be given a presentation at the School during her one-day visit to the state. A keen horsewoman for most of her life, Her Royal Highness will hear a brief history of the Equitation School and an outline of the current training programme, before watching a riding demonstration and then touring the stables.

Equitation School OC, Lt. Col. Gerry Mullins, said today: << We will be delighted to receive the Princess Royal and acquaint her with both our history and our current training programme, which includes many aspects of the EFI Coaching Scheme, now regarded as one of the best in the world.>>

HRH The Princess Royal is expected to arrive at McKee Barracks at approximately 11.35 am.
