Bob Jeffreys Clinics announces the winners of the Scholarship!

Bob Jeffreys Clinics is proud to announce the winners of the 2003 Young Adult Scholarship essay contest. Contestants had submitted essays on “Why I Want To Be A Horse Trainer and How I Will Help Both Horses and Riders Make Breakthroughs”. Our panel of five judges graciously donated their time to read and grade all submissions. A great big thank you to June Evers, Barbara Goldberg, Lisa Derby Oden, Chip Watson and Matt Winkler.

Our Winners Are:

1st Place – Kate Weston of New Paltz, NY.

Kate will attend Level one of the Bob Jeffreys Trainer Education Program in July 2003. Two weeks of learning all aspects of groundwork including round penning, spook proofing, leading and trailer loading, the Very Special Safety Lesson and more.

2nd Place - Ann Marie Kaleda of Blairstown, NJ.

Ann Marie will participate in our four day Extended Foundation Clinic. This includes a one day show and three days of combined instruction including riding techniques, mounted horse training and ground games.

3rd Place was tied Julie Letourneau of Westport, MA and Jana Scelia of Monroe, NY Both contestants have won a place in any of our Foundation Level One Clinics, which includes a Friday evening show and two days of riding and training instruction.

We wish to congratulate all who participated in the program! Because the final scores of the top essays were so close, we will also award a $100 dollar gift certificate to the fourth, fifth and sixth place winners (Rebekah Rogers of Richfield Springs, NY, Rebecca Lucas of Rochester, NY and Michelle Vandermark of Marlboro, NY) toward attendance at any of our Bob Jeffreys Clinic events this year.
