Horse Lover takes up Montana Challenge

A West Sussex horse lover has taken up a charity's challenge to raise £2,000 so that she may fulfil the ambition of her lifetime.

Elaine Grant (33) from Haywards Heath, comments "I like a bit of a challenge, so raising money for what I consider an excellent charity was going to be my challenge for 2002. I think that the ILPH (International League for the Protection of Horses) do a fantastic job for the welfare of horses worldwide, and I will do as much as I can to raise money for them."

If Elaine manages to raise the money she will be off on a cattle drive in Montana, USA in August this year. Adds Elaine, "I have always wanted to go to the States, so to participate in the cattle drive would combine my love of horses, fulfil my dream of going to North America and allow me to raise lots of money for my favourite charity too !"

As well as going to a couple of car boot sales, and twisting friends' arms for donations, Elaine is holding a Bronco Bash on Saturday 15 June in Clair Hall, Haywards Heath. The barn dance will feature The Famous Potatoes, will have a licensed bar until midnight, and a Bucking Bronco for those who fancy themselves as cowboys. The £12 adult ticket price, £8 for children under 12, includes a buffet and unlimited dancing from 7.30 pm until midnight. Further details can be obtained by calling Elaine on 07929 338586.
