Take a seat in the "virtual stands"
World Championship Paint Horse Show to be broadcast live over the Internet

FORT WORTH, Texas-For the second consecutive year, the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) will broadcast live video over the Internet from the 2001 World Championship Paint Horse Show. APHA will also post show results hourly and supply daily news via the Internet. One site, www.aphaworldshow.com, is exclusively dedicated to the event, to be held in Fort Worth, Texas, from June 24-July 7.

With new technology being used by APHA, Paint enthusiasts around the world can catch video broadcasts of evening performances and the World Showcase Sales.

"We've been posting World Show results on the Web since 1997," said Irene Stamatelakys, APHA Web site director. "Last year, we added the video streaming, and we had viewers as far away as Australia logging on to watch the broadcast.

"It was exciting for us to see so many visitors to our site-especially from overseas-filling the 'virtual stands.' And it was exciting for our exhibitors, because friends and family who could not make it to Fort Worth could still watch the performances."

All you need to access most of the content on www.aphaworldshow.com is Internet access and a Web browser. To enjoy streaming audio and video, RealPlayer software is required and can be downloaded for free from www.real.com. The broadcast of the Showcase Sales sessions and the evening classes is limited to 500 viewers at a time.

Broadcast Schedule
(Central Daylight Savings Time)
June 25 through July 7, 6 p.m.-Evening Performance
June 30, Noon-World Showcase Sales Gelding and Yearling Sessions
July 1, 1 p.m.-World Showcase Sales Mare and Stallion Session

The site is also an excellent resource for anyone planning to attend the World Show, and includes visitor information, a schedule of events, World Showcase Sales consignments, the 2001 World Championship Show Premium Book and downloadable entry forms. Users can also check class entries and the complete exhibitor list to find out who is competing at the show.
