New Trade Mission To US Shows Promise For Industry

IT was a British one, two, three at the Rolex Three-Day-Event in Kentucky.

While the event riders scooped major honours, the Princess Royal toured the British Pavilion and the British Trade Mission scored major business successes.

The trade delegation was organised by the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) and attracted nine exhibitors to the British Pavilion to promote their products and services.

BETA Chief Executive and Secretary Claire Williams said: "The Trade Mission went extremely well, with all exhibitors reporting a very good reception throughout the event.

"The Princess Royal spoke to all the exhibitors and was very interested to hear why they had decided to attend and what were their aims for the mission.

"One of the exhibitors Unicorn Trails caught the Princess Royal's attention and picked up on MD Wendy Hofstee's comment that there was still much potential in marketing riding holidays in Great Britain overseas."

Ms Williams added: "Most of the exhibitors were pleasantly surprised by how visitors to the stands actively sought information about their products or services.

"The success of the British riders was certainly matched by the success of the Trade Mission which we hope to repeat next year."

Exhibitors included Hartpury College, NAF, Equimins, VisitBritain, Flair, Horselyx and Writtle College.

Amanda Bond, International Director at Hartpury College said: "Hartpury had a very good response at the Rolex.

"We are quite hopeful it will grow our existing US market, both in terms of the individual responses and contacts made through networking at the event. It was a very successful first visit which we hope to repeat next year."

The event coincided with the opening of All The Queens Horses, a new exhibition at the Kentucky Horse Park, International Museum of the Horse.
