In its second year of involvement in the Hampton Classic Horse Show in Bridgehampton, August 25-September 1, 2002, the Animal Health Division of Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has put on its wizards cap and come up with some unique additions to its sponsorship. Not only will they showcase the $30,000 Adequan® Grand Prix, the qualifier for Sunday's grand finale, the $150,000 Prudential Financial Grand Prix, but they'll also be hosting the inaugural Dog Agility Competition. The Adequan® Canine "Little Classic" will take place on Opening Day, August 25. Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is also sponsoring the Riders Tent. The company is flying in some of the nation's top veterinarians to be on hand to answer questions in this tent. Last but not least, Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. will provide free access to the Internet to riders, owners, and trainers in the tent. It's a wonderful blend of the old with some great new additions that will make this year's show even better than ever.

Their sponsorship will begin on Manhattan Mortgage's Opening Day, which features horse show competition for local and Long Island riders in six show rings. While the horses are competing in nearby rings, the grand prix arena will be alive with dogs negotiating an array of obstacles in the Adequan® Canine "Little Classic." The dogs will be wearing bandanas, courtesy of Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as they maneuver tunnels, miniature jumps, balance beams and more.

On Friday, August 30, their focus will be the horses competing in the $30,000 Adequan® Grand Prix. This class generally starts with around 60 riders but only the top 30 will qualify to compete in the prestigious $150,000 Prudential Financial Grand Prix on Sunday, September 1. Among the 16 or more jumps that they will be negotiating will be the green and white Adequan® i.m. jump.

One major goal of Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is to help educate the public, not only about their products, but also about other problems horses have to deal with everyday. With this in mind, Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is bringing together several of the nation's top veterinarians to be available to the owners, riders, and trainers to answer their questions, offer suggestions and discuss their horse's health and well-being. Dr. Jack Snyder and his wife Dr. Sharon Spier are well known in horse show circles. Not only do they offer their knowledge throughout the United States, they have been involved with the veterinarian activities at numerous Olympic Games. Dr. Michael Collier is Dean, College of Agriculture, Forestry & Natural Resource Management, and is Professor of Equine Surgery and Sports Medicine, University of Hawaii-Hilo. His work provided much of the groundbreaking research utilizing therapies, such as Adequan i.m. (POLYSULFATED GLYCOSAMINOGLYCAN). Dr. Roy Poole, Jr., Professor Emeritus at Mississippi State University and University of California at Davis, is a world leader in Orthopedic Pathology. Dr. E. Wynn Jones, Professor Emeritus at Mississippi State University and Oklahoma State University, has spearheaded the introduction of PSGAG research in the United States. Each of these veterinarians will be available throughout the week. Times and locations will be posted in the Riders Tent and will be announced by the horse show announcers.

Knowing how busy riders, owners and trainers are, Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has added the Riders Tent to their sponsorship. It is here that owners, riders, and trainers get a ringside view of the events happening in the Grand Prix Arena. They can relax, have refreshments and hang out with their fellow horsemen. Now, thanks to the manufacturer of Adequan®, they will also be able to check their email at a kiosk provided to them right in the Riders Tent.

And so, Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has really done its homework. This company realizes that it isn't just about educating horsemen about their products, but being available to answer whatever questions they may have. And the comfort of those who know and use their products is of equal importance to them. This year the dogs and their handlers and the horses and their owners, riders and trainers will surely benefit ten-fold from Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. sponsorship of the Hampton Classic.
