Trick or Treat—Win $1,000 at Colorado Horse Park

Parker, CO, August 14, 2003— With a little creativity and the consent of your fun-loving horse or pony, you could win $1,000 at the fourth annual Halloween with Horses costume contest at the Colorado Horse Park at High Prairie Farms.

A box of Crayola Crayons. A mummy. A skeleton horse and rider. These are just a few of the creative costumes from years past at Halloween with Horses. This year on Saturday, October 25, judges will be looking for the costumed horse and rider that show the most originality and flair. The grand prize is $1,000.

The top placings from each age category (12 and under, 13 and older) also receive cold, hard cash for their efforts. First place in each category is awarded $100, second place earns $75 and third place receives $50. Entry fee is $30 for pre-entry or $40 on the day of the event.

For the first time ever non-horse costume classes will also be held. There is no entry-fee for these classes and the winners receive big rosettes. (Age categories are 12 and under, and 13 and older.)

Halloween with Horses fall festival is fun for the whole family offering a safe trick or treat barn, pony rides, face-painting, storytelling, camel rides, a pumpkin patch, food, entertainment and shopping, including the Artists Guild and Farmers Market. Children under six years old are free. For those over six, the cost per person is just $5. Parking is free. The Halloween With Horses fall festival runs from 12:00-6:30 on October 25 and also features the only Halloween fireworks celebration at dark.
