APHA American Paint Horse Association elects new Executive Committee

FORT WORTH, Texas-The American Paint Horse Association (APHA), which has registered more than 630,000 horses since it was founded 39 years ago, recently elected a new slate of officers to its Executive Committee.

New members of APHA's Executive Committee include, from left, Bill Hittle of Hugoton, Kan., president; Forrest Nelson of Meeker, Colo., president-elect; Tom Elliott of Benson, Ariz., vice president; Paul Reinbolt of Woodburn, Ky., senior committee member; Carl Parker of Ogden, Utah, fifth committee member; Richard Cox of Knightstown, Ind., sixth committee member; and Jerry Boomhower, of Russell, Kan., immediate past president.

Elected by their peers at the 31st APHA Annual Convention, held Oct. 2-5 in Tampa, Fla., were:
Bill Hittle of Hugoton, Kan., president; Forrest Nelson of Meeker, Colo., president-elect; Tom Elliott of Benson, Ariz., vice president; Paul Reinbolt of Woodburn, Ky., senior committee member; Carl Parker of Ogden, Utah, fifth committee member; Richard Cox of Knightstown, Ind., sixth committee member; and Jerry Boomhower, of Russell, Kan., immediate past president.

The APHA Executive Committee that is now in place will lead the association into an exciting era as American Paint Horses continue to grow in popularity. Among the many qualities that make the horse desirable are its sound conformation, versatile athletic ability, intelligence, calm temperament, willing disposition and beautiful coat color patterns.

American Paint Horses are being registered at APHA's headquarters at a rate of about 62,000 horses each year. At the end of last year, more than 100,000 members had joined the association.

APHA employs 165 people at its Fort Worth, Texas, headquarters and has an operating budget of $15 million for activities worldwide. Members are located in every state, every Canadian province and in 39 other nations around the world.

"APHA has truly become a global organization," said Hittle. "Our Executive Committee is dedicated to serving all our members as we continue to grow around the world. We will persevere and do whatever it takes for the betterment of our association and the American Paint Horse."
