FISHER LANDS OLYMPIA PLACE

James Fisher and Finer Point landed the top spot in the recent Olympia Qualifier at Towerlands Equestrian Centre (17th-19th October 2001) finishing on a score of 46.

Fisher, from Sonning near Reading in Berkshire, hasn’t competed at Olympia since 1998 but having spent time rebuilding his string, he is now relishing the chance of getting back in the ring with a team of in-form horses.

The Towerlands Qualifier gives three riders a chance to qualify to compete for the week at the 30th running of the Olympia International Show Jumping Championships (19th-23rd December), one of Europe’s most popular show jumping shows. The other two golden tickets were taken by Alex Newsham on Dody Du Chalusse on a final total of 43 and Lyn van Heynigen partnering Cobreth to a score of 43.

The trio, who can each bring two horses plus a Puissance horse, will join the ten automatic British Qualifiers and the international entries to compete for the staggering £233,500 prize fund.

There will be ten performances at Olympia from Wednesday 19th December – Sunday 23rd December. The box office can be contacted on 0870 733 0733 or visit the website at www.olympiashowjumping.com. Tickets are priced from £11 with concessions for groups, seniors and children. For Private Boxes please call Daniella Lipman on 020 7370 8206.
