The Blood-Horse, Inc. proudly introduced a new corporate name and
logo at an employee gathering held earlier today at the company's
headquarters. The distinctive and timeless "mare and foal"
logo echoes a theme first used by the company 35 years ago. The
new logo was designed by Creative Director Suzanne Depp and her
staff, and illustrated by renowned equine artist Richard Stone Reeves.
evolution from The Blood-Horse, Inc. to Blood-Horse Publications
recognizes the expansion of our company into new areas of service
to the horseman," noted Mr. Stacy V. Bearse, president and
CEO of the firm. "We are honored that Mr. Reeves accepted the
commission to create the illustration that serves as the focal point
of our new logo. Richard's sensitive depiction of the bond between
mare and foal highlights our continued commitment to the enjoyment,
appreciation and welfare of the horse."
Stone Reeves produced his first portrait of a Thoroughbred in 1946.
He achieved international recognition the following year when his
painting of Horse of the Year Armed appeared in Life magazine. Over
the decades, Reeves has painted more champion racehorses than any
other artist and his work is coveted by collectors and admirers
around the world.
