USET To Host Show Jumping Riders And Horse Owners Forums

Gladstone, New Jersey – January 29, 2002 – The United States Equestrian Team
(USET) will host Show Jumping Riders and Horse Owners Forums during the HITS
Desert Circuit in Indio, CA and the Cosequin Winter Equestrian Festival in
Wellington, FL.
The USET encourages input from riders and horse owners on all
topics related to the sport. Input from these individuals and other
constituencies plays a key role in developing USET policies and procedures.
Dr. Craig Ferrell will attend the forum in Indio to discuss athlete drug
testing. Discussions in both locations will center on plans for the 2002
World Equestrian Fames, including the selection trials.
Mrs. Sally Ike, USET Director of Show Jumping Activities
commented, “ These meetings are very informative for the Team. Horse owners
and other show jumping constituents are afforded the opportunity to share
their ideas with the us and we learn of ways that may help us better perform
our duties in developing a successful show jumping program.”
The meetings are scheduled as follows:

Friday, February 1, 2002 Indio, CA Oasis Club VIP tent
at the conclusion of the last class of the day on the Grand Prix Field
(approximately 4:00 PM)

Saturday, February 9, 2002 Wellington, FL WEF Spectator tent at the
conclusion of the last class of the day (approximately 4:00 PM)

The United States Equestrian Team is a non-profit organization that selects, trains, equips and finances equestrians of the highest possible standard to represent our country in major international competition, including the Olympic Games and the World Championships. To accomplish this, the USET seeks out and nurtures the development of talented athletes - riders, drivers and horses - and provides the support and guidance they need to help them attain their fullest potential.
