1st Day of Bayer/USET Gold Coast at Winter Equestrian Festival


Wellington, FL – January 29, 2003—Today was the first day of the Bayer/USET Gold Coast Classic week at the Winter Equestrian Festival. This week of competition features the very highest caliber of jumpers in all arenas. The featured class, the time first jump-off 1.4 meter, with 17 entries was moved to the Denemethy Arena from the Internatioanle Arena. Former Olympian, Laura Kraut, from Wisconsin was the big winner taking the top three spots. Laura was first with Wet Paint owned by Pin Oak Farm; second on Paloma owned by James B. Pirtle Enterprises; and third on Amande Du Chateau owned by Equuleus LLC. The Power And Speed Class was won by Anne Kursinski on Indeed.

Thursday the Wellington Dressage Classic begins and will culminate on the weekend with the Dressage Selection Trials. Expect the very best in dressage competition.

Tickets to the Winter Equestrian Festival are available by phone at 793-JUMP or at the gate. Admission is free on Wednesdays. Children 12 & under are free all days. Senior admission is $5 every day. Adult admission is $5 on Thursday and Friday, $10 on Saturday, and $15 on Sunday. Parking is free.
