The 2003 Winter Equestrian Festival Opens Its Doors to Numerous Charitable Causes

Wellington, Florida – January 22, 2003 – Stadium Jumping, Inc. and the equestrian community will be supporting numerous charitable and community causes during The 2003 Winter Equestrian Festival.

Stadium Jumping and its President, Eugene R. Mische, are generously donating The Special Events Pavilion on The Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club grounds, together with tables and chairs, during five Sunday grand prixs. Different charitable organizations will use The Pavilion during those afternoons for fundraising events. The Pavilion, which seats up to 400, is a 40’ by 200’, three-tiered, permanent structure overlooking the International Arena. The scheduled Pavilion events are as follows:

·February 2 during The $40,000 Bayer/USET Wellington Cup: Hospice of Palm Beach County
Fashion show, live auction and luncheon beginning at 11:30 am. $100 per person. Contact Lynn Hatton at (561) 776-0563.
·February 9 during The $50,000 Kilkenny/ICH Internationale Cup: The Youth Ministry of St. Rita’s Catholic Church of Wellington

·February 16 during The $50,000 Idle Dice Classic: The Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League

·February 23 during The $75,000 Zada Enterprises Wellington Masters Cup: The Hanley-Hazelden Foundation
8th Annual Family Luncheon beginning at Noon. Adults, $150/ children, $50. Reserved tables for $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000. Contact Paul Hamblin at (561) 841-1212.
·March 9 during The $100,000 Cosequin U. S. Open Jumper Championship: The Miami Project To Cure Paralysis

Stadium Jumping and Eugene R. Mische will also be donating the premises of the prestigious Jockey Club, overlooking the International Arena, to two notable equestrian/community events:

·February 15: The American Hunter-Jumper Foundation
Buffet dinner during The American Hunter-Jumper Foundation’s Classic Spectacular of Palm Beach beginning at 7pm. Reserved tables at $2,500 and $3,500. Contact Co-Chairs Mason Phelps, Jr. or Beverly Lake Wilkes at (561) 753-3389.·
February 17: The Wellington Equestrian Alliance and The $25,000 Wellington Equus Medal
Buffet dinner beginning at 7pm. Top U.S. equestrians who have competed internationally square off in an equitation showdown for the benefit of The Wellington Equestrian Alliance, a lobbying group committed to keeping Wellington equestrian-friendly. In addition to the Pavilion and Jockey Club events, the equestrian community will be involved with the following:

·The Month of February: The City Slickers Equestrian Program of Connecticut will send seven inner-city youths and five horses to compete at the Festival. Stadium Jumping and Eugene R. Mische are donating the stabling, feed, hay and bedding. Jet Blue is providing the airline transportation. Contact Ruth Fried at (203) 910-5701.

·February 10-23: Equestrians will host Make-A-Wish Foundation patient Laura Jahnke, who has been diagnosed with bone cancer. More than 50 well-known riders, trainers, owners, saddlery companies and others will be donating funding, transportation, a horse, a stall on the showgrounds, riding lessons, tack, clothing and living accommodations. And, as announced during The 119th National Horse Show, Stadium Jumping has named The Belle Glade High School Band as the official band of The 2003 Winter Equestrian Festival. The Band will perform at many of the Sunday grand prixs.

In recognition of the organizers and patrons of these and other charitable events in Palm Beach County, well-known developer Laszlo Wagner and The Landfall Group will host a dinner party at La Charente located in The Palm Beach Polo and Country Club, Wellington. The party is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, March 8, 2003 and is by invitation only.

Tickets to Winter Equestrian Festival are available by phone at 793-JUMP or at the gate. Admission is free on Wednesdays. Children 12 & under are free all days. Senior Admission is $5 every day. Adult Admission is $5 on Thursday and Friday; $10 on Saturday; and $15 on Sunday. Parking is free
