Haverty and Franks Lead the Field in the USET Young Rider Reining Medal Standings

Gladstone, New Jersey—March 20, 2002—Zane Haverty and Brittany Franks are now tied for the lead in the USET Young Rider Reining Medal Standings, with 95 points each. The top twenty point-earners in the final standings will be invited to compete in the USET Young Rider Reining Medal Championship at the Bayer/USET Festival of Champions, Presented by State Line Tack, in Gladstone, NJ, June 19-23, 2002.

Franks, of Franklin, TN, won her third USET Young Rider Reining Medal Qualifier at the Gordyville Breeders Cup on March 17 in Gilford, IL. She rode her Mr. Wolf Cash to a winning score of 144.50 points. Nicole Dryden, riding Tradition Windwalker, took second place with a score of 141.50, moving her into 7th place in the USET Young Rider Reining Medal standings.

Haverty, of Krum, TX, has now logged four wins in USET Young Rider Reining Medal Qualifiers. With 95 points so far, he is tied for first place in the USET Young Rider Reining Medal standings. His most recent win came at the Florida Reining Horse Classic, held March 2-3, in Ocala, FL.

So far, 32 Young Rider classes have been held since the qualifying period began May 21, 2001. Qualifying for the 2002 Young Rider Reining Medal Championship ends on May 20, 2002, and the 2003 qualifying period begins on May 21, 2002.
