FEI GANDINI WORLD JUMPING RIDERS RANKINGS

With no surprise, Ludger Beerbaum (GER) comfortably leads the No. 16 List of the World Jumping Riders Rankings including events starting from 1 May 2001 to 30 April 202.

During this week of the World Cup Final, there is no drastic change in the hierarchy of worldwide show jumping. Beerbaum is once again followed by Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA) and Ludo Philippaerts (BEL). Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (SWE) continued his smooth progression and went up once place. He is now 5th, thanks to the 120 points earned in Göteborg.

World Cup Title Holder Markus Fuchs (SUI) could not recuperate the 205 points he dropped at the end of April. He lost one place and is now 6th. He will drop another 210 points at the end of the month. The other Swiss Willi Melliger could still not compete this month and was kicked off the Top Ten. He is now 18th.
Leslie Howard (USA) lost almost as many places as she had gained last month and dropped to the 17th rank. She is still the best lady rider.

FEI BCM WORLD DRESSAGE RIDERS RANKINGS

The No 16 list of the FEI/BCM World Dressage Riders Rankings sees no change in the world Top 10. Ulla Salzgeber leads the rankings with a total of 79.810 points.
The first change in the list is the Russian rider Elena Sidneva who went up from 13th to 12th place.

IN MEMORIAM

Joe Moore, a prominent British Driving personality, died on 28 April 2002, after a long illness. He was 70 years old. Harness horses had always been part of Joe Moore’s life, as he came from a family with a transport business. He was an extremely successful competitor, winning twice the National Scurry Championship at the Horse of the Year Show in London. In the early seventies he drove a Four-in-Hand, and competed in the FEI European Four-in-Hand Driving Championship. Until last year, Joe Moore was a member of the FEI’s Driving Committee.
