San Patrignano CSI-A (ITA)

Equestrian sport against drugs and social outcasting

High note of the Italian rider Gianni Govoni

In front of a large audience, the second-last competition of day three in the San Patrignano International show jumping ended. The Aon Prix, a speed class in two phases, went to one of the top riders of the Italian team, Gianni Govoni. The Italian rider, riding Loro Piana Stella performed , as he is used to do, an extremely fast jump-off and largely preceded the British Robert Smith – on Mr. Springfield - one of the most constant riders of the show. The Australian lady rider Edwina Alexander, who has his training base in Belgium, in Francois Mathy ‘s stud, took the third place on Lowlanda of the Lowlands.

Govoni, who jumped with the Italian team in the last European Championships in Arnheim (Holland) in June, comes from a quite positive beginning of season, with two victories in Cervia and Modena International shows. At the ceremony, he declared that he is getting satisfaction from his horses’ condition at the show: ”They all are jumping quite well: Yesterday, I could not step on the podium by less than a second, but today everything went all right and Stella was really good”. Now the audience and the professionals’ attention - Duccio Bartolucci, the Italian Coach among them – will focus on the most awaited competition of the San Patrignano three-day event: the Infostrada grand Prix – Challenge Vincenzo Muccioli
