Show Jumping - Kerrygold Grand Prix League - Wallslough Win Puts Marshall Into Second

Ballyclare's Harry Marshall climbed into second place in the Kerrygold Grand Prix League with a superb victory at Wallslough today (Friday), his third consecutive success in the series.

Marshall, riding his own horse Splendido, produced one of only two double-clear rounds, and his time of 47.11 was almost four seconds clear of runner-up Taylor Vard on Collins 5.

The victory takes Marshall to within eight points of League leader James Kernan, who didn't make it into today's jump-off.

Third-placed Edward Doyle with Waterside Stud's Polycar went around in a very fast 44.66 but had one down, while Paul O'Shea on Who's Business As Usual, owned by Julie Pratt, produced a good time of 46.37 at the expense of a pole to finish fourth.

Lt. Brian Curran Cournane also had one down to finish 5th on River Boyne, and Mervyn Clarke secured sixth on his own horse Rip Tide, also with four faults in the jump-off.

Alan Wade's challenging course produced a great afternoon's show jumping in the brilliant sunshine.

Tommorrow the action moves to Ennis, with Ballina also down for decision this weekend.
