Blood-Horse Circulation Up 7.6%

LEXINGTON, KY - Readership for The Blood-Horse, the Thoroughbred industry's premier magazine for racing and breeding news and information, climbed 7.6% during the 12-month period ending June 30, 2003, according to a report recently released by the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC). ABC is the leading third party auditing organization in the United States. The Blood-Horse now reaches a paid circulation of 23,887 subscribers--an advantage of 4,478 copies (+23.1%) over the 19,409 paid circulation reported by the other Thoroughbred weekly.

The ABC report comes on the heels of a recently released study by Magazine Publishers of America (MPA)/RoperASW, which revealed that magazines are the medium of choice for "Influential Americans."

"What a great year for Thoroughbred racing," observed Stacy V. Bearse, President & CEO of Blood-Horse Publications. "Our subscription growth correlates perfectly with a rising interest in Thoroughbred racing. Successful partnerships with the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association, the Greatest Game program and others are introducing our title to thousands of new prospective owners and breeders."

The Blood-Horse, published by Blood-Horse Publications since 1916, is the oldest continually published North American Thoroughbred magazine. Blood-Horse Publications also publishes The Horse: Your Guide to Equine Health Care, a monthly equine health care magazine; TBH MarketWatch, a newsletter for Thoroughbred investors; the official Kentucky Derby and Breeders' Cup souvenir magazines; Auction Edge; and Keeneland magazine. In addition, Blood-Horse Publications also operates a family of leading Web sites including bloodhorse.com and TheHorse.com.
