USA Equestrian Now Accepting Applications For 2003 Media Awards

USA Equestrian’s 2003 Annual Media Awards are now open for nominations. The deadline for nominations to be received in the Lexington office is Friday, November 21.

A panel of media experts will judge the awards on Friday, December 5, and the winners will be notified by December 12. The 2003 USA Equestrian Awards for Media Excellence will be presented formally on the evening of Friday, January 16, 2004, at the Pegasus Awards Banquet, held as part of the U.S. Equestrian Meeting at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, CA, January 14 – 18, 2004.

The 2002 winners were:

· Equestrian Print Media, Publication: DRESSAGE TODAY and EQUUS
· Equestrian Print Media, Single Article: “So Shall You Reap” – Denise Steffanus
· Non-Equestrian Print Media: “A 20th Century Legend Lives On” – Paula Rodenas
· Internet Media: horseNpony.com
· Broadcast Media: “Gold Medal Winner (a story of Amy Tryon)” – Chris Daniels/Keith Bobach/Matt Peterson – KCPQ-TV

· Photography: “If the Shoe Really Fits” – Brant Gamma

The 2003 USA Equestrian Media Awards application form can be downloaded from the USA Equestrian web site at http://www.equestrian.org/marketing/mediaawards/2003MediaAwards.pdf or a hard copy is available from the Marketing Department at 859-225-6974.

U.S. Equestrian will succeed USA Equestrian as the National Governing Body for equestrian sport in the United States upon its designation by the United States Olympic Committee, or December 1, 2003, whichever is later
