Safety Seminar To Be Held At U.S. Equestrian Meeting

U.S. Equestrian will be offering a Safety Seminar Friday, January 16, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, as part of the 2004 U.S. Equestrian Annual Meeting being held January 14 – 18, 2004, at the Millennium Biltmore in Los Angeles, CA.

The U.S. Equestrian Safety Seminar will be a forum for an exchange of the rules and information regarding a wide array of safety related topics: headgear and concussions; medical coverage for competitions; equine liability statutes; weather issues, motorized vehicles on competition grounds, barn safety, and safety in warm-up areas.

One of the most important concerns in equestrian sport is the safety of both horse and rider. Join paramedic and Safety Committee co-vice-chair Rusty Lowe, EMT-PA Dick London, Radiologist M.A. Aboussie, MD, attorney Jan Dawson, a representative from Troxel Helmet Company, and Safety Committee chair and competition manager Andrew Ellis to address these concerns. A question and answer session will be held at the end of each presentation.

The Safety Seminar, sponsored by the United States Equestrian Federation, Inc, will be free for all registered convention attendees and is available, along with the four educational seminars, for an audit fee of $20.00. For more information contact Krista Greathouse, Travel and Events Manager at 859-225-6961 or via email at kgreathouse@usef.org.
