New Chairman Of Dressage
Ireland
The appointment of Mairin Cassidy as chairman of Dressage Ireland was
announced at the organisation's AGM last evening (Monday 21st January
2002).
Mairin comes from a well known equestrian family, her father was very
involved in the SJAI in the fifties and sixties both as a judge and for
a
period as chairman of the then Southern region. She herself competed
in show jumping on both horses and ponies and rode out with the South
County Dublin hunt. Mairin is the Humanities Librarian at University College
Dublin. A dressage judge for over ten years she has held the positions
of
chairman of the eastern region, national secretary and for the last twelve
months
the vice-chairmanship of Dressage Ireland.
The outgoing chairman Laura Glynn informed the board at the end of last
year that she would be stepping down for personal reasons.
