PRUDENT IS ALL ABOUT POWER AND SPEED

WELLINGTON, FL -- FEBRUARY 23, 2001 - World Cup Veteran, Katie Prudent of Middleburg, VA was yet again in the winner's circle; this time aboard the 11 year-old Dutch-bred, Van Holland in the Zada Enterprises, LLC Wellington Masters Power and Speed Challenge at Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club on Friday, part of the Cosequin Winter Equestrian Festival.

Prudent was flawless over course-designer, Canadian Dave Ballard's jumping course in 36.47 seconds, defeating Wednesday's Americhoice Open Speed winner, Laura Chapot of Neshanic Station, NJ. Chapot, 29, daughter of Olympians Frank and Mary Chapot, paired with the 12 year-old Dutch gelding, Sundance Kid to take second place with a double clear round and a jump-off time of 38.91. Kimberly Frey of Hume, Virginia up on the 10 year old Holsteiner, Con Temporalis, clocked in at 41.29 in the jump-off round.

The Cosequin Wellington Masters continues through Sunday at Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club, with show jumping action daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Tickets are available at the gate or by calling (561) 793-JUMP.
