Dressage Freestyle Championship Announced |
The United States
Dressage Freestyle Championship and Dressage World Cup
U.S. League Final will take place February 23-24, 2002 at the Los Angeles
Equestrian Center, 480 Riverside Drive, Burbank, California, during the
Mid-Winter Dressage Fair, CDI-W Los Angeles.
Two-time Olympic Bronze
medalist, Guenter Seidel, Pan Am Gold medalist and
2001 USET Grand Prix champion Debbie McDonald, Olympic Bronze medalist
Steffen Peters and former Olympian Belinda Nairn-Wertman will be among
those
competing in this first United States Freestyle Championship, which is
now
combined with the Dressage World Cup U.S. League Final. These riders will
be among those vying to represent the United States at the FEI Dressage
World Cup Final to be held March 21-24, 2002 at s'Hertogenbosch, The
Netherlands.
The Mid-Winter Dressage
Fair will also host the USA Equestrian Reining Seat
Medal Finals. There will be a large trade fair and silent auction. Tickets

the door the day of the event.
USA Equestrian Inc., as the National Equestrian Federation of
the U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship
sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show jumping,
and vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines of equestrian
competition. As the country's largest multi-breed organization, the Federation
has over 77,000 members and recognizes more than 2,800 competitions nationwide
each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including educating
and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates who officiate
at these shows.
