"Seeing Double" - or
"Double Trouble"??
Twin foals in the equine world that survive are
very rare - and in the Clydesdale world this verges on the unique. So it is
most unusual to have surviving twins born in successive years - but this has
happened in both 1999 and 2000.
Our Millennium Miracles
(above) are Heidi and Hilda (or Sandhill Lady Margaret and Sandhill Amanda
Jane) who, along with their mother, would not have survived if it had not been
for the expertise of the staff at the Troytown Equine Hospital in County
Kildare.
By Collessie Cut Above and out of Collessie Heather Honey, the foals were born
on 22nd March 2000, substantially increasing the number of Clydesdale horses in
the Republic of Ireland. |
