A PEAK PERFORMANCE FROM THE SHOWJUMPER 2000

horse

For a long time the popular preconception has been that jockey skulls are safer than hats, despite the fact that both items are manufactured to the same standard. In the past standards have always excluded any additional safety benefits that there may be in the wearing of a peak. However, recent research has indicated differently. Peaks designed to absorb the ‘energy of impact’ can dramatically reduce the amount of force inflicted to the brain in certain falls.

Charles Owen have incorporated an energy absorbing peak into their popular 2000 Hat Range, making it safer than many jockey skulls. This technological breakthrough has enabled riders to retain a smart and traditional appearance, whilst remaining safe. The beliefs of many peak loving traditionalists have been confirmed!

The Showjumper 2000 has retained the classic Charles Owen profile and deep fit with a soft edged Pittards leather harness. Kitemarked to PAS015 BSEN1384, and recently approved by the SEI to ASTM F1163 (USA) it is one of the safest types of headgear available.
