Olympic Show Jumping Selection Procedures Available on Web

NJ and Lexington, KYAugust 21, 2003 The Show Jumping
High Performance Committee invites comments on proposed Selection
Procedures for choosing the United States 2004 Olympic Show
Jumping Team.
The
Selection Procedures are posted on the websites of the United
States Equestrian Team (USET) at www.uset.org and of USA Equestrian
at http://www.equestrian.org/aboutus/inter/info.asp.
The
deadline for comments is Monday, September 1. All comments should
be sent in writing by email to sike@uset.org.
The
Show Jumping High Performance Committee will review all comments
and give consideration to any substantive recommendations made
during the designated time period. Following that review, the
High Performance Committee will submit its recommended Selection
Procedure to the Executive Committees of both the USET and USA
Equestrian prior to formal submission to the U.S. Olympic Committee
on September 15.
USA
Equestrian Inc., as the National Equestrian Federation of the
U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship
sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show
jumping, and vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines
of equestrian competition. As

has over 80,000 members and recognizes more than 2,800 competitions
nationwide each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including
educating and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates
who officiate at these shows.
