THE KING OF THE RING WILL FINALLY BE CROWNED !
The sponsors of the fantastic King of
the Ring are getting ready to crown their Kings. Aon, Cushionride Arenas,
Dengie Horse Feeds, Crannog Kitchens & Ace Security Management will all be
there at Gleneagles Equestrian Centre on the 13th & 14th October, for the
Final. The hugely popular series promises a weekend of fantastic Scottish show
jumping as well as displays, entertainment and audience participation.
Nothing like this has been done in Scotland
before, with the riders competing for a prize fund worth over £5 500. The
competition will be strong. The points series is heating up and the crown has
proven to be in huge demand.
Going into the final the competition is
daunting, however in the Cushionride Apprentice Stakes Douglas Duffin is an
outstanding leader after taking the crown in all four qualifiers on 3 different
horses. Douglas leads the points with Time Out on a points total of 16 and lies
in second with both Spinola Creek and Sheldrake on 8. In the Dengie 1.10 open,
Johnny Aird is the King with Coral Gold on 16 after winning 2 qualifiers but
Iain Warnock is hard on his heels with a win and two placings to give a total
of 15, going into the final. Sandra Low Mitchell and Silvo have won the Ace
Security Management Grade C twice and a 4th place gives them a lead with 21 ,
this will be hard to beat. Linda Jameson and Kelso Bilabong are Quick and
Careful in the Crannog Kitchens sponsored speed class with 19 points, only 4 in
front of the very competitive Ron Brady and B Dynamic who will definitely have
a go at the final. In the Aon Grand Prix its the Langfaulds Stable
thats vying for the pole position, with both Douglas Duffin with
Dauntless Prince and Ronnie Brady, again, with B Dynamic having each won 2
qualifiers. After placings Douglas is just in the lead on 29 with Ron on 23,
the final will be well worth watching.
The overall King of the Ring points
champion will be very hard to catch, wearing the crown at the moment is Ron
Brady on B Dynamic on a staggering points total of 41, this will surely be
unmatchable ?
There will be lots of entertainment at the
final. A parade of Scottish champions will include Para Olympian Kaye Gebbie,
Scottish flat training Champion Jim Goldie, Olympic Event Rider Ian Stark, Jo
Jack Wembley Champion and the world renowned stallion Secundus. There will also
be stars from the world of snooker, football and television in attendance. The
Bronco Bull will prove a challenge for the winners of each class when they take
on the audience. No doubt the Vaulting team will show them how it should be
done.
Their will be a variety of trade stands to add
to the fun and entertainment. All are welcome, admittance is free, so join us
at the King of the Ring Grand Final at Gleneagles on the 13th & 14th of
October, both days commencing at 8.00am. For enquiries call Julie Samuel on
