GARDEN STATE HORSE SHOW PRESENTED BY THE JUNIOR
ESSEX TROOP PRESENTS THE JOHN H. FRITZ PERPETUAL TROPHY
AUGUSTA, NJ-September 10, 2001-Leigh Healey of Mt.
Holly, New Jersey and her mount Ideal from Glenayre Farm receives her award as
winner of the John H. Fritz Perpetual Trophy after winning the John H. Fritz
$2,500 Challenge Jumper Class at the Garden State Horse Show. The establishment
of the new perpetual trophy was part of the 50th Anniversary celebration May
2-6, 2001 at the Garden State Horse Show.
The Trophy, donated by Mr. and Mrs. Finn M.W. Caspersen, was initiated this
year in honor of John H. Fritz, a former Commandant of the Junior Essex Troop,
for his contributions and dedication to equestrian sports.
The John H. Fritz $2,500 Challenge is open to any horse or rider showing at the
Garden State Horse Show, except those entered in the Preliminary Modified,
Junior, Amateur Owner Jumper Section or an A-rated hunter class. The Garden
State Horse Show is New Jersey's largest Horse Show and is rated "AA"
by USA Equestrian. As one of the largest shows of its kind in the country, the
Garden State Horse Show attracts the nation's best riders.
