Ann Marie Is Groomed
For A Career In I.T.
"It wasn't a well paid job and I had to work shifts. The IT industry offered the prospect of high earnings and a long term career," Ann Marie explains. Despite knowing nothing of computers and how they worked, she was champing at the bit to gain the IT skills that would allow her to change tack and work in the industry. Having combed the papers she came across an advert for IT training pioneers Computeach International, and Ann Marie realised that she could overcome the hurdle of earning whilst she learnt as it was a distance learning program. "Working shifts meant I could fit in my studies around work as and when time allowed," she recalls. Established in 1964, Computeach has helped thousands of its students to achieve career success and boasts a first time exam pass rate of over 80%. The company's emphasis is very much upon career development, with its own recruitment division, Software Professionals, training students in job-seeking skills such as aptitude tests, interview techniques and compiling a CV. Ann Marie, 36, now has a new career as a trainee programmer for a software house in Sharston and she's delighted with her new position: "I now work regular hours and enjoy weekends off. I also earn more money and my prospects are much better," she beams. Her success is one of thousands of similar stories from students who have enrolled with Computeach, and she offers these words of advice to anyone looking to grab the reins of a runaway career: "To succeed on a course such as this you have to be determined to change your career." She concludes, "I now have an improved lifestyle and more free time to enjoy it."
