Foxhall Events, LLC Presents The Inaugural Foxhall Flower Show And Names Caroline Ballard Leake Managing Director

ATLANTA—(January 28, 2002)—This year Foxhall Events, LLC is introducing the Foxhall Flower Show, a distinctive open-air event based on the Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court Flower Show in England. As the first outdoor flower show in the Southeastern United States, the Foxhall Flower Show presents a unique setting, on a 1,200-acre family owned farm, in conjunction with the prestigious MBNA Foxhall Cup CCI***, the National Championship of Eventing, an Olympic equestrian sport.

As the largest outdoor show in the US, the flower show will feature several different categories and prizes totaling $100,000. Held at Foxhall Farm, in Douglas County, Ga., April 18-21, 2002, the show will benefit The State Botanical Garden of Georgia at the University of Georgia.

Caroline Ballard Leake, who was recently named Managing Director of Foxhall Events, brings extensive experience in community affairs, nonprofit organizations and charitable work to the Foxhall Flower Show. Prior to joining Foxhall Events, Leake was the American representative for the renowned British interior designer Nina Campbell, initiating business development in the United States. Former Governor Zell Miller appointed her Executive Director of the Georgia Council for the Arts, serving from 1993 through 1999.

Active in community affairs, Leake is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Atlanta Historical Society and co-chaired the preservation committee for the Swan House restoration efforts and helped raise half a million dollars by chairing the 2001 Swan House Ball. Her marketing and sales expertise has made her a much-recruited leader in the nonprofit community.

Other organizational involvements for Leake include serving on the Board of Visitors for the University of Georgia’s College of Family and Consumer Sciences, serving as Advisory Board member for Centennial Olympic Park and serving as a member of the Commission for the Preservation of the State Capitol.

“We are excited to have Caroline join the Foxhall Event, LLC family,” said Jim Richards, Chairman and Founder of the MBNA Foxhall Cup and Foxhall Flower Show. “We look forward to using Caroline’s expertise in marketing and sales in order to make this event successful.”
