WHO: The 2002 Ox Ridge
Charity Horse Show celebrates 73 years as
Connecticuts oldest equestrian tradition and the first show in New
England (1973) to feature a Grand Prix show jumping event. A portion of
the proceeds benefit the Center For Hope in Darien, CT which provides
support and counseling for children facing life threatening illnesses.
A special trophy is presented annually to the junior rider who best exemplifies
the qualities of
sportsmanship and good will in memory of Lauren Leslie, a young Ox Ridge
rider who lost her
battle with cancer after the horse show in 1994.
WHEN: June 12-16
Horse Show runs from 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
The $35,000 Ox Ridge Grand Prix takes place at 1:00 PM on June 16.

Hunt Club, 512 Middlesex Road, Darien, CT
WHAT: Nationally acclaimed
show jumper and hunter classes begin at
8:00 AM and continue until 5:00
PM daily. The highlight of the week is the $35,000 Ox Ridge Grand Prix
on
Sunday, June 16,
Fathers Day. Opening ceremonies begin at 1:00 PM with special equestrian
demonstrations. The
Ox Ridge Grand Prix is a National Grand Prix League member event.
EXTRA The Ox Ridge
Boutique Garden offers numerous fine
collectibles, garden/outdoor décor and
FUN: country accessories, plus a full line of equestrian
appointments. The annual luncheon and other
events benefit the Center For Hope.
