Horse Whisperer "joins up" for Britains biggest horse Show The Royal Windsor Horse Show 15 19 May 2002 The Royal Windsor Horse Show 15 19 May 2002, Britains biggest horse show and one of the most traditional family events on the equestrian calendar, is preparing to kick off the outdoor show season in great style this May. The world famous American Horse Whisperer Monty Roberts and the Garde Republicaines elegant tandem quadrille will perform at the show for the first time. They join a spectacular line-up of top class show jumping competitions, superb shopping opportunities and military pageantry. Regarded by many as one of the most magnificent venues for showing, The Royal Windsor Horse Show has more than 40 different types of horses, such as miniature horses the size of a large dog to grand old heavy horses standing at around 18hh, strikingly spotted appaloosas, high stepping Spanish horses, Britains range of native ponies, hunters, hacks and donkeys. The show also hosts the prestigious British Isles Showing Championships. In their third year the Championships look for the best overall showing horse from the 2001 and 2002 seasons. The Champion will receive £3,000, the largest prize money in showing. All the spectator stands and the Members Lawn will have impeccable views with Windsor Castle providing the stunning backdrop to competition and displays, such as the breathtaking Musical Drive of The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery. All this and more, coupled with excellent shopping from over 150 trade stands including fine foods, top fashion, jewellery and everything equestrian, ensure that The Royal Windsor Horse Show will provide the perfect venue for a fabulous family outing. And if thats not enough . On 16th, 17th and 18th May The Royal Windsor Horse Show will be playing host to All The Queens Horses, a spectacular equestrian Tribute to Her Majesty in The Queens Golden Jubilee Year. A night-time theatrical extravaganza of dramatic proportions, set against the magnificent backdrop of the floodlit Windsor Castle, All The Queens Horses has a enormous cast of over 1,000 horses, 2,000 participants, a 200 voice choir, a 75 piece orchestra, dancers and actors. The production is promised to be more Broadway than horse show. The Finale of the show will recreate the 1953 Coronation procession with the inclusion of the Gold State Coach with its eight grey horses in harness, a sight that has not been seen since the 1977 Jubilee.
