Hanoverian Happenings
from Vista Ridge Farm - Hanoverians

Donnerhall Passes Away (01/14/2002)

Donnerhall was considered by many to be the most successful dressage horse in the world. He managed like no other sire of his generation to combine sports and breeding successes. These include among others the DLG Champion in Hanover, German Champion in Mannheim, Team World Champion, World Cup European League and Oldenburg Dressage Stallion of the Year in 1997 and 1998. He completed his farewell tour from competition sport in 1998 and was described as 'fresh as a daisy' then. He died from a sudden attack of typhlocolitis within two hours of displaying the first symptoms.

We are grateful to have Donnerhall as one of our broodmare (EM Aluette) dam's sire and our mare. EM Tiramisu, in foal to Donnerhall's son, Domiro. His influence will live on in many top stallion and broodmare bloodlines.

Hanoverians win 'Best of All Trophy' for 5th Time and World Cups

The 'Best of All Trophy ranking from the World Breeding Championships for Sport Horses (WBCSH) is an international evaluation of all breeding areas and breeds. This is the fifth time that the Hanoverian has won this award. Through September 2002, Hanoverians were first in dressage and third in show jumpers.

Lincolm L by Landadel/Pik Bube won with Markus Merschformann (Germany) the World Cup Jumping and the Grand Prix at the Horse Show in Mechelen (Belgium). Also the Dressage-World Cup was won by a Hanoverian, Beauvalais by Bolero/Grande with Beatriz Ferrer-Salat from Spain came in first.
