A
touch of the Middle East comes to Britain
For
the first time ever the glamour and excitement of Arabian racing,
the elegance of Arabian showing and the grit and determination of
Endurance are being brought together at the new Arabian International
Horse Festival at Fontwell Park, West Sussex in June of this year.
The
Festival, which will take place on 14th and 15th June 2003 will
bring together the three disciplines in which the Arabian Horse
excels; Racing, Showing and Endurance; for a spectacular feast of
equestrian competition combined with a unique cultural experience
at one of Britains most beautiful racecourses.
The
Racing, which will include Group Races, will take place over the
weekend with prize money of over £20,000 on offer.
A
truly international field in the 160-kilometre Endurance Ride will
ensure that competition is top flight. The FEIs three-star
grading of the ride which will take place over both days, starting
and finishing on the Fontwell course, offers countries a last chance
to qualify for the European Endurance Championships in September.
The
third strand is showing. The Festival will incorporate the third
International Arabian Horse Show which is already an established
international event in its own right, attracting entries from all
over Europe and from as far abroad as Australia.
Wonderful
shopping from a wide variety of trade stands including a selection
of quality Middle Eastern themed stands will be available to visitors,
as well as the opportunity to experience a touch of mystique through
the presentations by Arab States Tourist Boards. The shopping and
exhibitions will offer an insight into Middle Eastern culture through
food, dress and traditions, making the Arabian International Horse
Festival an unforgettable occasion.
