GANDINI WORLD JUMPING RIDERS RANKINGS
The World Rankings List No 24 includes events from 1 January to
31 December 2002.
Ludger Beerbaum (GER), is the undisputed leader of the rankings
since their introduction in January 2001. The winner of the Top
Ten Final last December in Geneva, has a total of 3479 points.
His runner-up Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA) is now more than 1000 points
behind.
With Sören Von Röhne now at the 10th place of the rankings,
thanks to his good results in Frankfurt and Mechelen, there are
now no less than six German riders in the Top Ten. Toni Hassmann
(GER) goes up 2 places and is now 8th, thanks to his victory in
the Grand Prix of La Coruna and the points he earned in Geneva.
Michel Robert (FRA) who earned 150 points in CSI-A La Coruna and
80 in Olympia goes up from 18th to 14th place. The winner of Olympia
World Cup, Robert Smith (GBR), jumps up from 66th to 33rd place.

FEI BCM WORLD DRESSAGE RIDERS RANKINGS
Ulla Salzgeber (GER) still leads the World Dressage Rankings with
79.856, ahead of Nadine Capellmann and Lisa Wilcox. The latest
increased her score from 8.208 at the end of November to 78.623,
thanks to her victory in Frankfurt, where, with Relevant 5, she
won the Grand Prix and the Kür with a score of 81.31%.
Olympic Champion Anky van Grunsven is back in the Top Ten and
goes up from 11th to 8th place. She won the Grand Prix and Kür
in Mechelen with Gestion Krack.

FEI WORLD CUP JUMPING
Pessoa leads the World Cup standings
Rodrigo Pessoa leads the World Cup standings of the Western European
League with 58 points since Geneva CSI-W last December. His runner
up Markus Merschformann is getting closer, with a total of 53
points further to his victory in Mechelen.
The next World Cup qualifier of the Western European League will
be Leipzig from 24 to 26 January.

IN MEMORIAM
Mr Götz Weber Stephan (GER), Official FEI Judge in Dressage
passed away on 27 December, aged 60. Mr Weber-Stephan became FEI
Candidate Judge in 1984 and International Judge in 1990. He was
awarded the Official status in 1996. He came from a family very
involved with horses and was himself an active rider up to S level.
Very dynamic judge at the international level, he was one of the
faithful judges of the FEI Challenge Development Series for more
than 10 years.

PSI
In 2001 Performance Sales International (PSI) granted its support
to the FEI Jumping and Dressage Challenge. This series of approximately
100 competitions taking place in over 60 countries serves to develop
dressage and show jumping in nations wishing to reach the highest
competition level.
UAE NF
Since 1999, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Equestrian and Racing
Federation produces the FEI Endurance Riders Rankings. The 2001
edition was won by Dato Kamruddin bin Abdul Ghani (MAS).
DRIVING
Thank you to the supporters of the Driving discipline: Finn Caspersen,
supporter of the Four-in-Hand Top Driver Award, Van der Wiel Harness
supporter of the Top Driver Award for Pairs, Kühnle who supports
the Singles Top Driver Award. The US company Driving Essentials

WALDFRIED DRESSAGE STABLES
Since 2001, Waldfried Dressage Stables is supporting the Euro
Future Cup, a Dressage Series aimed at encouraging the progress
of Young Riders.
