Eric
Mitchell Announced As Research Director For Blood-Horse Publications
LEXINGTON,
KY - Blood-Horse Publications, a multimedia publishing company that
traces its roots to 1916, announces that Eric Mitchell has accepted
the position of research director, a vacancy created when Jim Cox,
former research director for the company was recently named advertising
director. Mitchell will resume his new responsibilities effective
immediately and will also continue his duties as editor of TBH MarketWatch,
a newsletter for Thoroughbred investors.
Mitchell,
41, joined Blood-Horse Publications in October 1999 as a senior
staff writer for The Blood-Horse. Prior to that Mitchell was a reporter
and columnist for Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Journal in
Charlotte, N.C. He also spent more than eight years as a reporter
and senior reporter for the Ocala Star-Banner, covering Florida's
horse industry among other subjects. Mitchell is a graduate of Texas
A&M University. He and his wife Rena, and their son Matthew,
reside in Lexington.
Ray
Paulick, Executive Vice President of Blood-Horse Publications, commented,
"Eric fully understands the importance of delivering accurate
and timely statistics to our readers, something The Blood-Horse
has been doing for nearly 90 years, but he also knows that many
of the changes in the bloodstock world require new and more interpretative
data for sire lists and other statistical sections of the magazine
that are critical elements in the decision-making process for owners
and breeders."
