Kurten Takes Fifth In Leipzig World Cup Class
|
IRELAND'S
Jessica Kurten pulled out all the stops in Leipzig, Germany, tonight
(Sunday) to take a commendable fifth place in the World Cup Grand
Prix on her 10 yr-old mare <Quibell>.
In
a field studded with international equestrian stars, Kurten was
one of only seven to go through to the jump-off, and had just one
pole down in the second round, but it was enough to secure her fifth,
and a prize purse of 8,000 euro.
Germany's
Marcus Ehning won the Grand Prix on his veteran German-bred <For
Pleasure>, with a classic double clear round.
Earlier
in the week, Kurten had failed to make any impact with her new horse
<Castle Forbes Maike>, but took a third with <Lady Preishammer>
and a first with <Laurus> in the Young Horse class.
