With spring grass
round the corner many owners will be faced with the worry of laminitis,
which can be a real risk for all types of horses and ponies. One of the
most important preventative measures is to limit access to grazing through
the use of strip grazing, weight watcher paddocks or grazing muzzles.
Stop Press Robert Eustace, Director of The Laminitis Clinic in Wiltshire and founder of The Laminitis Trust, Registered Charity No:1049266, says: "The Laminitis Trust was founded in 1999 to raise funds for vital research into this crippling disease which causes such misery to horses, ponies and even donkeys. Sadly a cure continues to elude the scientists, but we remain committed to continuing the fundraising drive towards a dedicated research project. We much appreciate Dengie's ongoing support in this regard." |
