Performance
Analysis Could Give Riders The Edge
|
With
the help of the UK Sports Institute (UKSI), British Olympic Association
and UK Sport a 3 day workshop at Hartpury College (23-25 February)
organised
by the World Class Performance Team (WCP) will present a number
of new and stimulating ideas to riders, coaches and Performance
Managers, that may significantly improve performance in the attempt
to qualify and ultimately win medals at the Athens Olympics.
During
the broader programme Scott Drawer, Performance Analyst at the UKSI,
Kenny More, from the Scottish Institute of Sport (who has worked
closely
with the gold medal winning British Curling Squad), and Haydn Price,
the WCP Consultant Farrier will deliver a performance analysis workshop
to the WCP
squads, presenting ways of tactically and technically appraising
rider performance and assessing equine movement and soundness.
Members
of the media are invited to join the Performance Analysis Team at
9am on Tuesday morning for their own briefing on the three ground
breaking computer-based digital video analysis systems which the
workshops will introduce. These three tools will give riders trainers
and owners powerful feedback which they can use to improve performance.
Many sports including soccer, cricket and athletics use similar
systems to help athletes assess and fine tune their performances.
