BETA New Product Awards

THIS year's BETA sponsored New Product Awards saw nearly 200 entries covering the six categories.

Winner of the Other Category was Stage Coach Games for the Jump Off Board Game.

Judges Nicki MacKenzie and David Dyer said: "We thought the game was fun, original and educational for all ages of rider and owner."

Armadillo Products scored in the Feed and Veterinary Category with their Hot/Cold Therapy System.

Tony Warr and Joanna Holmes judged the category and said: "The product is very practical and is accompanied by sensible and clear advice on how to use it."

In Rider Clothing, Horseware took the honours with Rambo Tech that the judges Dressage rider Laura Richardson and Cathy Lammie of Your Horse thought was: "A versatile jacket that is windproof and breathable, with many design features that ensure the rider stays warm and dry."

Frank Baines won the Saddlery and Tack Category for their Reflex Dressage Saddle.

New Product Award judges

Judged by Andrea Moffat of Horse and Rider, and Maurice Emtage, the section was bursting with new ideas.

In the Horsecare Products and Equipment Category, the winner was Equiplus International Ltd for Liquid Ice Wrap.

Event rider Brooke Staples and Dressage specialist Lee Pearson took on the task of judging and felt Liquid Ice Equine Wrap which cools and compresses was hugely innovative.

Safety and Security came under the expert eye of Lucy Higginson of Horse and Hound, and Dr Vanessa Lloyd Davies.

BETA Chief Executive and Secretary Claire Williams said: "As part of BETA's 25th Birthday celebrations we were delighted to sponsor the New Product Awards.

"The judges put in a lot of effort and were very thorough in their judging before making their decisions."
