Horses Galore At Equus 2003 - And That Includes A Unicorn |
Visitors
to this April's Equus horse show in London will shake their heads
in amazement as the event will opened each day.......... by a Unicorn!
No-one
knows where this beautiful creature has come from, but his appearance
at Equus, which is taking place at the ExCel exhibition centre in
London's Docklands from 3-6 April, will start off a fantastic programme
of daily demonstrations and shows in the event's star-studded main
arena.
Amongst
the celebrities taking part this year are Olympic Gold Medal winner
Anky van Grunsven, Badminton Horse Trials winner Pippa Funnell and
Olympic showjumper Geoff Billington with his popular partner "It's
Otto". These will be joined by top "horse whisperer"
Kelly Marks, side saddle specialist Claire Lewis, international
showjumper Di Lampard plus demonstrations of Western Riding and
Polo - which will include "have a go" sessions for the
public. Each day's programme will close with a favourite pastime
of ancient Rome - chariot racing.
Outside
of the main arena there will be plenty of other exciting things
for visitors to see and do. Over 150 companies will be showing the
very latest equestrian products, clothing, stabling, transportation,
holidays and training courses. And, as well as a Warm Up Arena,
where visitors can see many of the stars getting ready for their
performances, there is a Healthy Horse Stable Yard where talks and
presentations on subjects such as veterinary care, equine behaviour,
tack fitting and much more will be given by experts.
