HorseTV Announces Acquisition of International Equestrian
Federation (FEI) Competition Programs
Houston, TX - HorseTV, currently providing 18 hours of equestrian
programming each week to millions of North American homes through
local television stations, select cable systems, C-Band satellite
dishes and certain major markets through DirecTV and DISH local
station options, announced this week that it has secured the broadcast
rights to almost 75 major international equestrian competitions,
including all of the 2003-4 Dressage and Showjumping World Cup qualifying
competitions, the 2003 Nations Cup Showjumping series, the new 2003-4
World Cup Indoor Driving series and the 2003 European Championships
for Dressage, Eventing and Showjumping.
Long underserved by mainstream television, the huge North American
equestrian-enthusiast audience will now be able to view top class
international horse sport on a regular basis for the very first
time. Initial programming of the competitions will commence mid-Spring.
HorseTV is the brainchild of equestrian video veteran Sally Lasater,
who has spent many years working on expanding the limited coverage
of equestrian sports on television. Launched in January, 2001 and
distributed by the America One Television Network, HorseTV broadcasts
a wide variety of informational and instructional programs as well
as an outstanding array of documentary, show and event programming
devoted to owners, riders, breeders and lovers of horses and equestrian
sports.
HorseTV has been growing steadily during the last two years thanks
to the continued support of Britain's leading video company, Equestrian
Vision, and Texas-based US Farm and Ranch Media Group, two major
backers of the project. US Farm and Ranch Media Group is the parent
company of America One, as well as Western & English Today,
a leading equestrian trade publication, and Cowboys and Indians
Magazine, the premier magazine of the West. "Just think about
it," said Sally Lasater, "For the first time in the history
of our industry, horse lovers of all persuasions will be able to
follow their favorite horses and riders in on-going competitions,
year round. Well finally be able to present the heros of the
equestrian world to the rest of North America!
One of the immediate goals during the next year is to demonstrate
the remarkable power for product branding and promotion which HorseTV
and television can provide to companies within the industry. With
the wonderful programming we've got coming up in 2003, said
Lasater, there isn't a company in this industry which couldn't
benefit."
HorseTV is eager to expand its relationships with all equestrian
and breed organizations, and to provide broadcast platforms enabling
them to distribute of knowledge and information beyond that of just
the equestrian world.
