Take 2nd And 4th At Vilamoura Grand Prix
|
Ireland's
Marion Hughes and Glen Leddy filled two of the top 4 places in today's
10,000 euro Grand Prix at the Vilamoura Equestrian Tour in Portugal.
Only five out of forty-five starters went clear in the first round,
and the Irish were among the four who also managed to negotiate
the jump-off without a penalty.
Hughes,
riding LB Galileo, was first to go in the jump-off, and looked on
course for victory, but saw her leading time of 50.23 swept aside
by last-to-jump Olivier Guillon of France on Baladine du Mesnil.
"A
lot of horses had difficulty with the course - there were some cricket
scores out there", said Glenn Leddy, who was delighted with
his own double-clear on Gold Fingers.
