Jumping - Lennon Seventh In Swedish World Cup Warm-Up |
IRISH
WORLD CUP hopeful Trevor Coyle disappointed in the World Cup Preliminary
competition at Gothenburg, Sweden tonight (Friday), when placed
43rd out of 46 starters, finishing on a total of 14 faults with
his American-owned bay mare Portofino.
World
Champion Dermott Lennon was the best of the Irish tonight, with
a seventh place on the Irish-bred Liscalgot, while Jessica Kurten
continued her impressive run of Top Ten placings at the Gothenburg
show with the nine yr-old Quibell, finishing in tenth.
Though
the results of tonight's World Cup Preliminary competition do not
affect World Cup points, they do determine the order of jumping
in the official World Cup competition tomorrow (Saturday), where
a good finish by Coyle may be vital to his qualification for the
World Cup Final at Las Vegas in April.
