It is the first time that Ulla has won the coveted World Cup title. Isabell Werth (GER) with Anthony FRH, a 15-year-old Hannoverian gelding, finished second. Third place went to Rudolf Zeilinger (GER) and Livinjo, a 12-year-old Hannovarian gelding. Vilhelmsborg Organising Committee died a wonderful job in organising the event at such a late stage, having taken over from Brazil just two months ago. The Foot and Mouth Disease outbreak in Europe directly affected the Final, as three qualified riders, the titleholder Anky Van Grunsven (NED), Sonja Gademan (NED) and Toshikiko Kiso (JPN), were not able to participate as a result of restrictions imposed on movements of animals in the Netherlands.
