Army Win At Monte Carlo
IRISH
Army rider Lt. Shane Carey clocked up the first Irish win at the
prestigious Monte Carlo international show jumping competition tonight
(Friday), riding the Irish-bred Clover Hill gelding Killossery.
Carey
took the Prix Liebherr speed class with a time of 54.56 seconds,
shaving fractions of a second off Belgium's Kristof Cleeren's time
of 54.99 seconds.
Ireland's
Jessica Kurten took eighth place in a time of 59.10 seconds, riding
the German-bred Duke of Lando.
The
Army riders Lt. Shane Carey and Lt. David O'Brien are at the Monte
Carlo show at the express invitation of the Ireland Fund of Monaco,
which is run by Bill Vincent.
