Series Starts Great Second Year
The South Essex Insurance Brokers Trailblazers series is off again!
The nationwide competition, run by experts for amateurs, offers
unaffiliated showjumping and dressage riders the chance to qualify
and then compete in a national championship at the National Agricultural
Centre, Stoneleigh.
The
series, run by the Permanent Show Organisers Association and sponsored
and supported by South Essex Insurance Brokers, is building on last
year, when it attracted about 10 per cent of the estimated 200,000
unaffiliated competitors.
Qualifying
rounds are being held at 39 PSOA cenrtres around the country. Dressage
classes are at Preliminary, Novice and Elementary levels and showjumping
over 75cms, 85cms, 95cms and 1.05m obstacles for both seniors and
juniors, with seniors strictly limited to rides at a minimum 14.2hh.
PSOA
spokesman Norman Bargh said: "Apart from The British Riding
Clubs, there is no organisation able to offer such well organised
competition for the unaffiliated ranks. We can guarantee good courses
over well-built obstacles and dressage in front of sympathetic and
qualified judges."
Nicolina
MacKenzie, livestock and marketing manager for South Essex Insurance
Brokers, said: "As sponsors, we were thrilled at the response
last year and in the way the series was received. We think it will
go on to even bigger and better things this year. A place in the
finals will really mean something."
