World
Cup Show Jumping - Coyle 20th In First Class |
In
the first of three classes that will decide the winner of the Show
Jumping World Cup, Ireland's Trevor Coyle finished in the middle
of the field last night in Las Vegas, with a 20th position in the
blistering speed class at Las Vegas.
There
were 41 riders and horses in the class, but three did not start.
The class was won by the US's own McLain Ward, riding <Viktor>.
Tonight
(Friday) the Armagh-born rider, who is now 44, competes with his
American-owned mare <Fleur> in a jump-off class where the
fences will max out at a massive 1m50 to 1m60, but he is likely
to feel more comfortable here than in yesterday's speed class. Because
of time differences, the result will not be known until Saturday
morning, Irish time.
The
final, and deciding, class of the World Cup Final takes place on
Easter Sunday.
