Robert
Smith from Shrewley, Warwickshire rode to victory in the Goteborg
Trophy held Saturday 10th April at
CSI-W Gothenburg beating a world class field. Robert riding his
own 12 year-old grey gelding, Kalusha jumped a double clear round
beating Brazilian Rodrigo Pessoa and Baloubet du Rouet by just
0.15 seconds. Top German riders Ludger Beerbaum and Marcus Ehning
finished in third and fourth places respectively. John Whitaker
and Lord Z finished in 8th place with four faults in the jump-off.

Michael
Whitaker was also on form in Goteborg, winning the opening class
of the show with Portofino 63 and Friday's Knock-Out competition
with First Samuel. Robert also finished second in a speed class
with Kalusha and John Whitaker and Lactic Two finishing in second
and third in Friday's speed competition's. Michael Whitaker was
the highest placed Brit in the World Cup Qualifier finishing in
=11th place riding Anne Bedford's stallion, Handel II.
