Dina
& Robert Verburgt have announced the retirement of Abbervail
Dream their, 17 year old international show jumper. Due to an
injury at the 2003 St Gallen Nations Cup the horse has not made
a sufficient recovery to return to the International circuit.
Abbervail
Dreams partnership with Di Lampard made them one of the great
and most reliable combinations in Britain for almost a decade.
They started on 36 teams including two European Championships
and two World Equestrian Games. At the 1998 European Championships
they were instrumental in Great Britain winning a team bronze
medal. In 1994 as a seven year old they won their first Queen
Elizabeth II Cup and again in 1998, Abbervail Dream enabled Di
to become the first lady rider to win the Cock o'the North Championship
at the 1999 Great Yorkshire Show.
Abbervail
Dream will now enjoy his retirement with Di Lampard and Dietmar
Ackerman at their home Spring Farm, near Oakham.
